About IIT Indore

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, located in Madhya Pradesh, established by the government of India in 2009. IIT Indore’s campus is located near a village, Simrol, approximately 25 km away from Indore city and spread over 512 acres of land in natural surroundings. The institute has developed the state-of-the-art infrastructure, well equipped laboratories, sophisticated instrumentation centres computer centres etc. IIT Indore is ranked 54 Universities in Southern Asia and 254 in Asia Universities. Recently, IIT Indore with a rank 477 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024. The faculty members of the institute are well equipped to conduct high-quality research in both Science and Engineering and are also engaged in interdisciplinary research activities. For collaborative research, interested researchers are encouraged to contact the concerned faculty. The institute is actively engaged in organizing various research activities.

About CRDT

Centre for Rural Development and Technology (CRDT), hosted at IIT Indore, is a nodal hub for researchers, volunteers, practitioners, and educators to collaborate and facilitate rural empowerment and progress solutions. The team strives to empower the rural population to improve their living conditions by developing & applying appropriate and people-friendly technologies by adopting participatory, sustainable, democratic, transparent, and gender-sensitive processes. CRDT has started working on science awareness and reachability by organizing science lecture series along with education; it is also working on renewable energy, water management, waste management, and agriculture. Through its continuous intervention through the Centre's activities, CRDT envisages sustainable rural development anchored on its technical knowledge and improving the rural areas' social and economic conditions.

About Conclave

Rural Innovators Conclave II will provide a platform to a wide array of innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their products, pitch and talk about their innovations and innovative ideas and design for improving rural life. The event will be attended by representatives from industries, Academics, government organizations, S&T institutions and most importantly by venture capitalists, angel investors, incubators, and other players from the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The participants can display their products in conclave and help this initiative is to identify the critical day – to – day problems faced by the people of rural India and elicit the potential solutions to address them. The conclave puts special emphasis on the Rural innovators & Start-ups. The Best innovative ideas/start-ups of Conclave will be shortlisted and offered space for their display-cum-demonstration as per norms.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The innovation must be applicable to rural or semi-urban areas.

2. The solution should be innovative and unique.

3. Add value to customers and should be commercially scalable.

4. Showcasing of technologies/ products/prototypes/designs at the event is compulsory.

Showcasing Formats: (i) Product (ii) Model (iii) Poster

5. Start-up Stage: Innovator/team having at least few customers on board and looking for scaling up and commercialization.

6. Schools can submit up to two innovations, with two students per innovation.

Abstract Submission

1. Abstracts should only be submitted online via submit

2. All submitted abstracts will undergo peer review. The abstract should clearly indicate the aims and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper.

3. Abstract text length should not be less than 250 words and not be longer than 1000 words.

Seeds for Tomorrow

• Young generation can be a valuable part of this conclave by bringing fresh ideas and learning from experts.

• CRDT is inviting the students from various schools to become a part of this conclave, by submitting their innovative ideas for rural development.

• Students or schools can submit their ideas with the heading Seeds For Tomorrow.

• Entries can include a short video, presentation or one page write describing the innovative idea.

• Each team or entry should consist of a teacher who will accompany the students to the conclave. Please include the name, Mobile number and email Id of the teacher for further communications.

Accommodation

Rural Innovators Conclave II is going to take place at IIT Indore from March 21 – 22, 2025. The conclave is being held in physical mode and active participation from various sectors across the country is anticipated. To cater to the need for accommodation of the participants, the following facilities are arranged:

(1) Institute accommodation: A limited number of institute accommodations will be available for the participants. The preference will be given to the participants traveling alone and having Abstracts accepted in Rural Innovators Conclave II 2025.

(2) Outside accommodation: Details to be updated soon.

1) Book a taxi/cab/auto to reach IIT Indore directly. This will cost around a maximum of RS. 1000. Distance: Approximately 35.3 kms. Time: 90 mins approx.
